Classical Bengali Vocals
Having trained in Bharatya Vidya Bhavan as the only Muslim Sylheti student, Promi has developed her own style of Indo-Soul vocals.
She later went on to write her own songs in response to community actions taken against BREXIT, austerity and the gentrification of Tower Hamlets.
Big Beautiful Wise
Promi Ferdousi is a British Bengali woman from Tower Hamlets. Growing up in inner city, she grew up with contradictory dichotomies: Brownness and Britishness, poverty and Canary Wharf. Over a decade, she trained as a classical vocalist while sneaking into pop singing clubs and gospel choirs in her free time. She has now culminated a voice and tongue of dichotomy. East meets West, Bengali folded into English and Hindi.
